Trying to decide what to do to make the holidays more magical than ever?

Here are 8 random things to do in Sonoma County this year.

D– Drinking is a daily part of life in wine country, however having a fabulous glass of red wine at Pangloss Cellars while looking out at the Christmas lights on the Plaza is truly magical.  I suggest the Moon Mountain Cab.

E– Eating in a town that is absorbed in the culinary arts of pairing food and wine is what Sonoma is known for. One of my favorite winter places is always the bar menu at El Dorado Kitchen.  The tuna tartare is incredible with that little green tobiko on top.  Always perfection with a glass of bubbly.  Not into green eggs and tuna? Looking for less protein and more carbs?  Indulge on the famous truffle fries, also perfect with bubbly.screen-shot-2016-12-10-at-12-49-54-pm

C– Contest’s between the business is also a great one to check out.  My 2 personal favorites is the gingerbreadhouse contest at the participating wineries, and the window contest for all the businesses in town.  Sonoma Valley Visitor’s Bureau has all the information on both.

E– Enjoy a night at the movies at the iconic Sebastiani Theatre. There is something about nostalgia at Christmas time that makes you want to sit in an old theatre and watch a good movie.

M– Museum’s are always worth checking out in any city.  Sonoma Valley Museum is right on Broadway, just off the plaza.  The photography exhibit looks fab.

B–  BYOB is pretty much socially acceptable anywhere in Sonoma.  You can take a bottle and some cheese to the park and have a picnic, or take your favorite wine to any restaurant to have with dinner, some places charge a corkage, sometimes you get the pleasant surprise of them waiving the fee.  Fig Cafe in Glen Ellen does not charge a corkage.

E– Enjoy the gnomes       screen-shot-2016-12-10-at-12-53-59-pm   at girl and the fig while having a glass of Pappy Van Winkle at the bar.  #holidayatmosphere

R– Ride a bike and ride the Sonoma bike path along all the beautiful wineries in Sonoma.  After all the eating, drinking, entertainment, and indulging, it is time for some fresh air and to get those muscles moving!
